The Banca Generali group was set up with the vision of bringing into a single business structure all the necessary components for offering personal financial services in Italy. The company's shares have been listed on the Italian stock exchange since 15 November 2006.

At the end of December 2008, the company managed 20.2 billion for more than 300,000 customers, thanks to net inflows during the course of the year of 686 millionllion. Net income in 2008 totalled 7.9 million, the operating profit amounted to 36.6 million.

Founded in its current form in 1998, the company offers a range of about 1,200 financial, banking and insurance products via its financial advisors. In addition, it provides customers with phone and Internet banking services and a nationwide network of branches.

Banca Generali recognizes the need to have a different approach for different clients. For this reason its distribution networks are carefully articulated to meet a range of needs and understand the situation of each category of client:

  • Banca Generali for affluent investors  
  • Banca Generali Private Banking for private-banking clients

Business model
Banca Generali's business model is therefore founded on offering customers a large variety of financial products that includes those of selected third parties (a so-called open architecture). Its world-class offering is coupled with a specialized consultancy service provided by the groups personal financial advisors and private bankers so clients can choose the products and services that best meet their needs and characteristics.

Stock listing
Banca Generali shares have been traded on the Milan stock exchange since November 2006. The company is a unit of Assicurazioni Generali, Italy's largest insurance company and a leading player internationally.

Management
Giorgio Girelli has been chief executive officer of Banca Generali since 2000. Piermario Motta is general manager of the company. Giovanni Perissinotto, who is currently CEO of Assicurazioni Generali, is Banca Generali's chairman.
