Sustainable Investment Challenge 2022: the winners of the sustainable investment challenge

The third edition of the Investment Challenge, the second with a sustainability theme, created in collaboration with Reply and with MIP Politecnico di Milano, MainStreet Partners and CFA Society Italy, has officially ended.

Record numbers for the online competition that saw over 13,750 participants from 95 countries around the world generate more than 36,000 trades in companies with the best ESG rating, in order to achieve the best impact for future generations.

Right from the start, participants demonstrated their ability to identify and invest in products with a positive ESG rating, in line with the competition's objective of sustainable investing. From day one, 67% of the transactions were on instruments with a positive ESG rating, i.e. with an ESG rating of more than 3 (on a scale of 1 to 5). A further evolution in investment strategies was noted during the competition: participants came to identify virtuous securities more effectively, increasing the percentage of products traded with ESG scores above 3, a testament to the skill of the players.

To better prepare for the challenge, participants were able to deepen their knowledge of ESG ratings and broaden their general finance and investment skills thanks to exclusive e-learning content created ad-hoc by Reply, Banca Generali, MIP Politecnico di Milano and MSP.
