Roberta Cocco
Born in Milan on 1 June 1966.
In 1991, she graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures, specialising in American Literature, from the University of Milan. In 1992, she obtained a Master’s degree in Marketing and Communication from ISFORP Academy (an institution affiliated with the Italian Public Relations Federation).
After her initial professional experience as a freelance consultant, she joined Microsoft Italy in 1991, where she held several roles within the Marketing Department until 2001. From 2001 to 2005, she served as Marketing Communication Manager, and in 2006 she was appointed Central Marketing Director.
From October 2012 to January 2014, within Microsoft Western Europe, she held the position of Director of Citizenship and National Plan Development, leading the design and execution of Social Responsibility initiatives in Italy with the aim of building strong brand equity and a solid reputation among institutional stakeholders.
From January 2014 to August 2016, as Director of National Plan Development for the Western Europe region, she promoted innovation projects supporting the development and implementation of the Digital Agenda in collaboration with governments and institutions across 12 countries, from Portugal to Finland.
From September 2016 to October 2021, she served as Councillor for Digital Transformation and Civic Services (and General Services) for the Municipality of Milan. From November 2021 to November 2022, she acted as Advisor to the Minister for Technological Innovation and Digital Transformation.
She is currently a member of the Boards of Directors of Angelini Ventures S.p.A. and Impresoft S.p.A., and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Bocconi University and LIUC University.
In 2010, she was awarded the honour of Commendatore of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano.
