Banca Generali presents "Confidence" by Michele Alassio

News

Banca Generali celebrates the first ten years since listing on the Stock Exchange by opening the doors of its Milan office in Piazza S. Alessandro 4 for a new exhibition. Wednesday, December 1st the curtain rises on "Confidence", an exhibition of unpublished photos by Michele Alassio, photographer and Venetian director of international fame, who wanted to follow the path of Banca Generali through 16 unpublished photographs inspired by the keyword that led the growth of the first private bank in Italy: the "Trust."

The photograph of Alassio is characterized by unique features: the shots are places full of charm, partly destined to not reveal itself and that reveal the imminence of something, trying to offer a snapshot that tells an infinite time in a finite space, or , as the same Alassio, "not to give image to reality, which already owns it, but to try to give a feelings". And this is the common thread that binds all its series, works that have received international recognition and brought the Venetian artist to exhibit contemporary art in temples such as the MoMA in New York, the Rejna Sofia in Madrid and La Triennale from Milan.

"When we thought about how to represent the evolution of our journey and the values that have guided us in these years was not easy to find the right setting and the art of Alassio has guided us in this quest managing to evoke the best and to give substance to emotions that have inspired our journey - says Gian Maria Mossa, General Manager of Banca Generali, which continues - his shots have a mix of poetry and technical and project us into a magical realism that is enriched with deep inner meanings. I thank him for the willingness and passion shown and are happy to dedicate this unique exhibition to all the people who contributed to make Banca Generali and that every day are enthusiastically by the trust that is placed there. "

Along with the exhibition is a catalog published by Banca Generali with Barry Friedman preface and introduction of Claudio Marra, professor of the History of Photography at the University of Bologna and author of several books on the subject. Confidence will be open to the public from 1 December 2016 until 28 April 2017 and can be visited for free in days and hours.
