Sustainable investments: ESG assets over 6.5 billion
Strong results from our sustainable investment solutions with numbers that setting a new record for ESG-certified assets under management.
At the end of 2021, these amounted to €6.5 billion, or 18% of total assets under management. This is almost double the 10% target we set ourselves at the end of last year.
Driving growth in this particular market segment is the platform unveiled in February 2019 and developed exclusively with MainStreet Partners to associate clients' sustainability goals within their financial portfolios.
Thanks to a proprietary algorithm, this platform is in fact able to quantify the return in concrete terms on each target of the individual client's investments. Within this project, Banca Generali has also mapped more than 5 thousand securities that have a qualitative description related to ESG ratings.
Among these, a basket of 250 funds was selected (60% generalist and 40% thematic linked to megatrends) considered to be "top" funds, i.e., the best if parameterized to the principles of sustainability.
